oh, beyond the fact that most of you guys actually like/play the game?

And probably are in/have been in higher leagues than most of us?

I mean, if it was back when most of us actually cared a little bit about CS:S (oh, 2 years ago at least) then it might be rather interesting. At this point? I don't want to put anyone down, or deride the competition, but you're a competitive team that still cares a bit about counterstrike (or at least did enough to play ESEA relatively recently) in a league that includes pubbers, has beens, and people who generally don't care all that much beyond to have a bit of fun.

I applaud the effort that Balls has done to earn sponsors and all that kind of stuff, but the irony is, many of us aren't really worried about it. Do I like getting something for nothing? Sure. but at the same time, I've been in CC for what? 7 seasons? and never once needed a prize or felt like it was something I was missing. Heck, I don't really have to win something at the LAN. I like to, and I was really happy taking home that magnetic dart game at the first LAN, but I don't need it.

I mean, really, beyond coming to pickup your prizes (that you're raffleling off or whatever) and to lay the beatdown on every team for 40 minutes each week, what does it really do for any of us? I don't think any of us really care, because most of PLA still plays for shits and giggles and because we've "always played in CC". Not because we really gave 2 hoots about "winning the finals". Heck, I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone of the final 7 or 8 PLA people who spend more than 2 or 3 hours on this game a week. If that.

It's whatever. i'm emo, i know. I don't really care.

I mean, good luck to you all, and you guys deserve it. So, it's not a real big deal. But don't feel like it's some major surprise or accomplishment. You guys losing more than 5 or 6 rounds would be the accomplishment for someone else. Heck, had we wanted to really give it a shot, we had options in adding "nominally" PLA guys who could have cared/carried bottom feeders like me or at least made it competitive. However, apathy reigns!

we don't need prizes either, most of us try to attend LAN's every year and just hang out and have fun, less about winning and more about making fun of Trik for crying during each trip.
